If Meghan Markle ever needed a reason to break from her official maternity leave, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships would pose a strong case.

And on a bright Thursday afternoon in London, that exact opportunity presented itself to Meghan, who surprised and delighted fans by stepping out on day four of the tournament – and boy are we glad that she did.

The new mum, who welcomed her new baby son Archie with husband Harry just under two months ago, was absolutely glowing in a casual ensemble.

Pairing a white pinstripe L’Agence blazer with a black cami and blue jeans, the 37-year-old looked as stylish as ever.

She accessorised the look with a pair of Finlay shades and a Madewell hat, according to @MeghansMirror.

Meghan was seen animatedly chatting to her pals Lyndsay Roth and Genevieve Hill, who are the royal’s friends from College.

Her pals from the US appear to be visiting London for a very special reason – they will be attending baby Archie’s christening this coming Saturday! Respected royal reporter Omid Scobie confirmed the news, which means they will be one of less than 25 guests expected to be present.

With her friends at her side, Markle certainly had grand day out at Wimbledon watching her long time pal Serena, who played on Court 1.

Indeed Meghan and Serena are known to be close, with the tennis legend being one of the main organisers of Meghan’s New York City baby shower held back in February.

As the royal watched her dear friend play against Slovenia’s talented Kaja Juvan, it was clear Meghan was feeling the anticipation just as much as Serena – her facial expressions were case in point!

Markle got right into pal Serena’s match by cheering her on from the sidelines.

Being a close friend of the tennis legend has its benefits – a great seat at Wimbledon!

The exciting visit to Wimbledon comes less than a week after Meghan’s unexpected joint visit with Prince Harry to watch the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees play a game of baseball.

The game, which was held in support of the Invictus Foundation founded by Prince Harry, was a sight to behold as the Duke and Duchess were seen greeting the players and watching the match play out with intent.

While the Duchess is expected to be on official maternity leave for a while to come, it’s not unusual for a royal to still step out in public in the months after giving birth.

Shortly after she welcomed Prince Louis, Duchess Catherine also attended Wimbledon in 2018, despite still technically being on maternity leave.

In fact, both Meghan and Kate attended Wimbledon together that year, and it would be safe to say fans lost it at the glorious royal sighting.

This month, we may well be seeing quite a lot of Meghan.

While baby Archie’s christening on Saturday will be a private affair, we’re expecting to see pictures taken on the day.

According to Hello!, Meghan is also quite possibly going to step out in public again as soon as next week for the premiere of The Lion King movie.

Taking place in Leicester Square on July 14, respected royal writer Emily Nash revealed the Duchess was making plans day-by-day, with baby Archie being her number one priority.

Surprise or no surprise, it’s always a treat to see Meghan in a new (or a recycled!) outfit – here’s hoping we’ll see the Duchess more over the coming month!
