It’s no secret that Meghan Markle already has lots of close friendships with some of the biggest celebrities in the world.
The Duchess of Sussex, who just gave birth to her first child, little Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, counts A-listers like Serena Williams, Amal and George Clooney and US talk show host Gayle King among her close circle of girlfriends.
But now it seems the California native is keen to add to her list of Hollywood pals and has reportedly struck up a friendship with the iconic pop singer, fashion designer and founder of hit beauty brand Fenty, Rihanna – and to say we’re jealous is a total understatement!
Just like Meghan, Rihanna has just moved away from the US and is now based in London, as she recently revealed to The New York Times, with Meghan, Harry and Archie based at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, just a short drive away.
As anyone who has moved to a new city knows, making new friends is one of the most important, yet most challenging parts of moving away from home.
So it makes total sense that both Duchess Meghan and RiRi, as her fans love to call her, would be keen to forge a fast friendship.
“They actually have a lot in common in terms of style and a shared need for total privacy in their lives,” a source told Radar.
“They’ve bumped into each other a few times before Meghan was super famous and have a few mutual acquaintances on the Hollywood social scene who’ve put them in touch again recently,” the source said.
Forming a friendship with Rihanna is reportedly a “high priority” for Meghan right now.

(Credit: Getty)But understandably, Meghan isn’t exactly super available for girly brunches or catch up over cocktails, as she is still recovering from giving birth just a few weeks ago.
“Meghan is with her baby right now but once she’s back from maternity leave hanging out with Rihanna is high on her list,” the Radar source said.
The driven and work-focused Meghan is reportedly finding it difficult to lay low on her maternity leave, but she is nonetheless trying to take things slow and be kind to her body.
“It’s not been easy for her staying cooped up at home,” the source added.
“But she’s needed the time to decompress and bond with Archie as well as get into the shape she feels she needs to be in before facing the world.”

To pass the time, a different royal source told Radar that Meghan has developed a little online shopping habit, treating herself and baby Archie to some gorgeous high-end treats.
“She’s spending a fortune on fancy baby clothes and decorations for the royal crib as well as treats for herself, too,” an insider told Radar.
“The shopping is by far her biggest vice because she’s avoiding wine or any other vices,” the source added.
“She’s got extremely expensive taste … And it’s burning a major hole in her pocket!”
Well, we don’t blame her!
And with the former Suits’ actress’ own personal worth believed to be about $5 million, even before she met Prince Harry, we say she has every right to buy whatever she wants!
