The royal parents-to-be looked at ease as they mingled with guests during the event, with the Duchess jovially remarking about her impending due date with a guest.

Telling a guest she’d met earlier in her pregnancy that things were “a bit different then when I saw you last”, Meghan was seen holding her baby bump before saying, “we’re nearly there!”

Prince Harry was also keen to discuss all things baby at the event, even joking with guests about the chances of he and Meghan welcoming a second baby!

A veteran who spoke to Harry at the event told The Daily Mail: “We also joked about Wales defeating England in the Six Nations rugby. I also warned him and the duchess it serves him right as they will be getting plenty of sleepless nights when the baby is born.”

“He said if they have any more than two it will serve him right.”

Meanwhile Kate opted for an elegant pale blue dress with button detailing and a high neckline.

The dress is understood to be made by a “private dressmaker”, according to royal correspondent Emily Andrews.

She paired the floaty style with her bespoke Alexander McQueen clutch, and wore her enviable brunette locks out in flowing waves.

It has been 50 years since Prince Charles’ Investiture as Prince of Wales, which took place on July 1, 1969 – and the occasion was not one to be missed.

Also in attendance at the event was Princess Anne, who was seen sharing a laugh with Meghan in a candid snap.
