After officially entering the British royal family in 2011, it comes as no surprise that Catherine, Princess of Wales has earned her reputation as a fashion icon.

As she progressed from commoner to Duchess of Cambridge to the Princess of Wales, the mum of three’s fashion sense has also grown.

In the beginning of her royal life, she donned delicate and feminine dresses with cinched waists. Now in her early 40s, Catherine is often seen wearing power suits or an Emilia Wickstead coat dress.

The humble Princess has even accessorised with affordable items including $28 earrings from Zara and a $49 straw Lily Woven Clutch.

But she still maintains her more elegant gowns and lavish jewellery owned by the late Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II for royal engagements.
