This married couple met through an accidental text message

It happens all the time, you receive a random text message from a stranger who’s gotten the wrong number and you politely text back to tell them – but have you ever thought that it could be how you meet the love of your life?
Henry Glendening and Kasey Bergh

Kasey Bergh and Henry Glendening’s love story is one fit for a Shakespearean play – except with a modern of twist thanks to technology.

In June 2012, 53-year-old Kasey Bergh had been divorced for six years and reserved herself to the fact that she won’t find love again – that’s until a single text message changed her life.

Trying to catch up with a co-worker while on a work trip, Kasey sent a text saying, “Hey, it’s Kasey. I was supposed to connect w Maria @ the park but her plane was delayed so I’m at the Westin. Wanted to see if I could connect w anyone else.”

At the time 23-year-old Henry Glendening was in an unhappy relationship and in a job that he loathed.

He received the rogue text message and out of politeness he decided to reply, “Sorry you’ve got the wrong number. But if I wasn’t headed to work I’d b down to hang ;).”

Despite the suggestive nature of that wink face, Henry was the perfect gentleman as the couple, who have a 30 year age gap, swapped messages.

They met in person a week after the text was sent and, in what can only be described as a fairy-tale moment, the pair completely hit it off.

“From the very, very beginning it felt like we were on the same wavelength,” Henry told the St Louis Dispatch.

Now, two years to the day they initially met, the duo, who were now living together, went for dinner at the same place they shared their first drink.

After excusing himself from the table Henry walked out of sight from Kasey handed his iPod to the waiter and asked him to play the 53-year-old’s favourite song.

Upon his return to the table, he bent down on one knee and asked the woman he once received an accidental text message from to marry him.

Fast forward to 2015 and they’re still happily married – if this isn’t the most perfectly modern love story, then we don’t know what is.
