Bride & Prejudice has been running for two seasons on Aussie TV screens and has by far been one of the most popular and controversial shows on television.
The most recent season, “Forbidden Weddings”, introduced viewers to six new couples and even though they each had their own unique story, these couples had one major thing in common: their families don’t want them to wed.
So now after being faced with lie detector tests, intense counselling with their families, tears, arguments and much, much, more, we take a look back and see which couples (from past and present) have stood the test of time (and marriage) and stayed together.

Only last week, it seemed that the youngest couple on season two of Bride and Prejudice had appeared to called it quits. While they hadn’t come out and confirmed it per se, Seyat’s Facebook status has returned to “single”.
in an interview earlier last month, Jess spoke with a local publication just after the finale aired, revealing that she and her husband were no longer living together at Seyat’s parents house.
“I’ve gone back home to my parents,” Jess said.
Taking a look back at their relationship, all signs pointed to a relationship destined for disaster – especially with Jessica’s mother-in-law from hell, Fatima!

After a heart-warming series finale, Ange and Dylan tied the knot in an emotional ceremony that tugged at the heartstrings.
The happy couple were joined at the celebration by Ange’s father, John, who has vehemently stuck by his beliefs that gay marriage is a sin for the duration of the show.
In the eleventh hour, John had a change of heart and showed up at the ceremony to tell his daughter he supported and loved her.
The couple are still going strong, posting loved-up couple pics on their socials.

Status: Broken up
Izzy and Simon didn’t exactly have what you’d call a “normal” relationship – in fact, the couple were in an “open” relationship and this did not sit well with their respective families.
Knowing it would end in disaster, the pair were warned not to stay together, however, against all odds became engaged. Now, Simon is in a relationship with someone else and Izzy is pursuing her flourishing modelling career.

Lily’s views upset Hank’s conservative parents, Terry and Margaret. They’d prefer Hank, 26, date a woman “who doesn’t speak back and does what she’s told”, but their dinner conversations have Lily doing the opposite.
Nevertheless, Hank was confident that he and Lily would “absolutely” walk down the aisle – whether his parents like it or not! And now, the couple are blissfully happy, posting regular updates on their social media accounts.

Melissa’s mum Jill and sister Rachel were worried about her marrying Aalden, a recovering gambling addict and cheater.
But it seems that even though he had a one night stand during their relationship, Melissa and Aalden are still going strong. While Melissa’s socials are back on private, she hasn’t changed her bio from: “beautytherapist, nursingstudent, a wife & mummy, Very Blessed, Inner beauty & kindness is what counts [sic]”.
