Upon hearing the life-changing news, a teary Ellie said, “I’m over the moon right now. Thank you so much [to coach] Jessie for always being there for me.”

24-year-old Joe Moore from team Madden landed second place.

While Nathan Hawes, 18, scored third place but his proud coaches, brothers Joel and Benji Madden, vouched the rising star would be making his mark in the music world regardless of tonight’s outcome.

“I can’t wait to really work with you. Me and Joel have big dreams for you,” Benji said.

The fourth runner-up was 23-year-old Liam Maihi from Ricky Martin’s team. “You had a great ride and an amazing time,” his coach Ricky assured him.

Earlier in the evening the Central Coast teenager dazzled the crowds with a cover of Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares, before debuting her new original single called Ghost.

Season four champ Ellie is the youngest ever winner and will walk away with a contract with Universal Music Australia, $100, 000 cash and a shiny new Ford Kuga Titanium to whiz around in.

Runners-up won’t be empty handed with a hefty $70, 000 cheque to share, courtesy of Woolworths.

Congratulations Ellie, Joe, Nathan and Liam!
