Scotty Cam, the much-loved hero and host of The Block, has landed in hot water after last night's dramatic Block finale.

During Sunday's grand finale, which saw Hayden and Sara walk away as the winners, fans of the show took to Twitter to air their distaste over a comment the 55-year-old made during Bianca Chatfield and Carla Dziwoki's auction at the Gatwick.

The remarks, which have since been labelled "eye-raising" and "casually sexist", did not go unnoticed by the women, who looked incredibly uncomfortable, but laughed it off.

As the pair's apartment reached $2,982,500 - the two women were clearly chuffed and in all the excitement Scott said: "Not bad for a couple of single girls, aye," he said, before patronisingly adding: "You'll be off the market now! There's two million people watching this show. Coupla good sorts with plenty of cash..."

"Chasing cash, Scotty..." Carly asked.

"That's right, they'll be lining up!" he responded.

As you could probably imagine, Twitter was not happy.

So far, Scott is yet to respond to the backlash.

After the intense auctions, Hayden and Sara were crowned the winners of The Block 2018!

The couple not only sold their apartment in The Gatwick for an incredible $3.01 million, they also announced they are expecting a baby boy.

Hayden and Sara won the series after making $545,000 above their reserve price of $2.5 million and with the additional $100,000 prize-money for winning the series, they're walking away with $645,000.

Kerrie and Spence's apartment sold for $2.85 million, leaving the couple with an incredible $415,000 in prize money, while Jess and Norm managed to sell well above their reserve price, scoring an incredible $2.859 million for the penthouse, walking away with $209,000.

Bianca and Carla sold their stunning penthouse sold for $2.991 million, leaving the girls with $301,000 to take home and Courtney and Hans sold their apartment for $2.77 million, leaving the high-flying duo with $410,000 in prize money.
