Who will be The Bachelor Australia in 2019?

We're rooting for the ultimate Bachie comeback next year

When one season of The Bachelor Australia closes, another one opens. And, with it, fans are introduced to another handsome Bachelor looking for love!

After this year’s unconventional finale, which saw Nick Cummins walk off in to the sunset solo after turning down both Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman, we’re looking forward to the new season more than ever before.

Although it was a less than ideal outcome for Nick, we and the rest of the nation hold out hope that next year’s love story will be one with a happier ending.

With applications already open for the next season of The Bachelor Australia, TV WEEK has compiled a list of our top picks for who we’d like to see looking for love in 2019.

SCOTT TWEEDIE

SCOTT TWEEDIE

Recent reports say that Network 10 has offered Scott Tweedie the gig as The Bachelor Australia in 2019. But are claims that he’s joining the show true?

Scott rang in to Studio 10 to clear things up, though he seems to be adding to the growing speculation with his answers.

“I picked the worst timing for an annual leave day! I’m up on The Gold Coast about to jump on the helicopter with none other than Matty J,” he said. “We’re doing a morning of hot air ballooning and checking out the super yachts.”

“I know all fingers are pointing to it – I am single, I am looking for love, and all that stuff,” he said, before hanging up.

How. Suspicious.

Scott, 30, currently hosts The Loop on 10 Peach with Liv Phyland, so we know he’s good in front of a camera. At the moment, it seems the TV host is the front-runner to take on the gig.

TOMMY LITTLE

TOMMY LITTLE

Tommy always brings his a-game to The Project, and if Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette is anything to go by, comic relief is always a hit with audiences. A realistic down to earth guy with a funny side is just what we need.

APOLLO JACKSON

APOLLO JACKSON

Apollo is the gift that keeps on giving. Considering he’s been on both Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette and again on Bachelor in Paradise, we still feel like we haven’t seen enough of the gorgeous magician.

We’d love to see what tricks he’d have up his sleeve for next year’s ladies (besides a never ending packet of Tim Tams).

DR CHRIS BROWN

DR CHRIS BROWN

We know Chris has shut down speculation on this one, but we can’t help but look at his potential. And, thanks to Sam Pang’s jokes on Have You Been Paying Attention? we’re allowed to wildly speculate that Chris is indeed the next Bachelor.

We aren’t short of being exposed to Chris’s fun side on The Living Room and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, but we’d like to see even MORE of Chris on our screens whenever possible.

A NEW FACE

A NEW FACE

Sometimes you’ve just got to go back to the basics. The last time we saw an ‘original’ Bachelor was back on Sam Wood’s season in 2015 which proved to be a tremendous success, with him and winner Snezana having the first Australian Bachelor baby in 2017.

We’ve loved having some familiar faces, but we think we’re well and truly overdue for someone new.
