Sophie’s journey on The Bachelor Australia has been, in her own words, “a slow burner”.

But after getting to spend more one-on-one time with Nick, Sophie, 25, is feeling positive about him being “the one”.

“I can definitely see myself falling in love with Nick,” she tells TV WEEK.

“It takes a lot for me to use that word, but after our ice-skating date, I could definitely see myself with him.”

Sophie and Nick had a slow but steady start to their relationship.

It is a huge step for the bubbly blonde, who has admitted that communicating and talking about her feeling’s has been a big challenge for her to overcome while on the show.

“I never thought communication was a flaw of mine, nor has anyone pointed it out until Nick did” she says.

“This experience has been more difficult for me than the other girls. I think it comes down to the fact I don’t want to be hurt in this experience.”

Trying to find the balance between being open and vulnerable, while also protecting her heart has been difficult territory for Sophie to navigate.

“I don’t want to put my feelings on the line for them to be squished at the end. I am struggling to find a happy medium”.

As for how Sophie will cope should her best friend Britt be the one to win Nick’s heart, she says it won’t be easy.

“It would take me a bit of time to recover,” she says.

“But I thank my lucky stars to have Britt here with me in the top three. She’s kept me sane throughout the process.”

“I see amazing qualities in her. If Nick doesn’t choose me, it would hurt, but I can see what he sees. Everything happens for a reason.”

The Bachelor Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm on Network Ten.
