It’s not uncommon for reality stars to change up their looks after appearing on TV.

While we’re much more accustomed to seeing a dramatic makeover or bold new hairdo, former Bachelor Matt Agnew’s latest look has been a much more subtle change.

Yet, we still had to do a double take when coming across his latest Instagram post.

The astrophysicist turned Bachie took to Instagram to share a selfie in promotion of R U OK? Day, an important initiative raising awareness around suicide prevention.

Matt shared this image to Instagram to help raise awareness.

It’s a very different look from this snap he shared just weeks ago.

The 33-year-old has seemingly ditched his clean-cut look we’d seen him sport while dolling out roses on the reality TV show.

With a five o’clock shadow and wearing a beanie, the star looked completely different in his last few posts, particularly without his iconic geeky-chic glasses.

Fans also picked up on the change in another recent post with his adorable pup, Pluto.

“Gezzzz, you have changed. You don’t look the same,” one fan commented.

“You look different today,” another added.

It’s not the first time Matt’s change in appearance has been discussed, with surprising before-and-after photos making headlines during his time on the show.

As it turned out, Matt had quite the glow-up before going on TV.

The geeky yet charming Bachie revealed to the Courier Mail that he had gained weight prior to signing up and struggled to drop the kilos.

“I literally just couldn’t get to the gym as often. I just kind of put on a few kilos,” Matt revealed.

Before and after photos surfaced of Matt while on the show.

Studying his doctorate in philosophy, Matt was too preoccupied to focus on exercise.

“Leading up to submitting the PhD dissertation there was a lot of work obviously. I was running low on time [to work out],” he explained.

He put his eventual weigh loss down to intermittent fasting.

“So I usually only really have coffees, I don’t do breakfast. Sometimes I’ll skip lunch,” he told an Australian publication.

“I eat in a smaller window, sometimes only 4-6 hours in the evening. They’re a lot of proteins, lean meats, salads, yogurts.”

Matt’s initial and final promo shots had fans scratching their heads, too.
