Australian Survivor All-Star Zach may have been voted off the show, but he’s pulled off the ultimate blindside in real life, with a surprise proposal to girlfriend, Katie Miller.

Katie, who runs a sanctuary for special needs birds, shared a video of the engagement, which involved a helicopter flight over Sydney harbour and Zach proposing mid-flight. Cute!

It turns out, however, the sky-high proposal wasn’t at all what Zach had originally planned.

“Zach had planned to propose to me at the season finale of Survivor All Stars,” Katie shared in an Instagram post.

The personal trainer was “gutted” when his plans were ruined, with the show deciding recording with a live audience could no longer go ahead amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

But his co-stars rallied and helped plan a whole new “perfect proposal.”

“David Genat organised a private helicopter for us, Johnny Estoe distracted me while Zach and Moana helped organise my custom made ring,” Katie revealed.

Talk about a team effort!

Overjoyed Katie shared a pic of her ring.

We can’t help but laugh at Katie’s special shout out to Johnny.

“Poor Johnny, who was put in charge of distracting me out shopping and probably bought stuff he didn’t need to, to drag the time out,” she wrote.

“Turns out Survivor players are just as good at blind siding out of the game as they are in it.”

Zach also shared a happy photo to mark the occasion, calling it “the Bachelor date she deserved, complete with mid air proposal.”

The Bachelor-esque date was joked about during the proposal video, with Katie telling new Bachelor Locky, to “eat his heart out.”

This is definitely the type of date we, and obviously his Survivor co-stars, can see Locky embarking on when the show launches.

Zach recently told Now To Love what kind of Bachelor he thinks he ex co-star will make.

“He’s a funny guy, we’ve hung out a bit. I reckon he’ll be making out with everybody.”
