Barry Hall breaks down in tears over his family and “anger issues” in SAS Australia sneak peek

Barry Hall breaks down in tears when speaking about his family and his anger issues in a sneak peek for the upcoming season of SAS Australia.

The AFL legend is one of 17 Aussie celebrities who will embark on a gruelling series of physical and psychological tests.

“I’ve got a bit of an anger issue. I think I’ve got it fully under control, but I haven’t been put under those pressure situations,” Barry said in a preview for the third season, which airs on February 21.

Barry teared up when speaking about his wife Lauren and their three kids.

Reflecting on his hardman reputation, Barry said: “I was so young and immature, I had a chip on my shoulder. Your biggest asset is your brain, I tried to use my brawn.”

When speaking about his wife Lauren Brant and their three kids Miller, four, Houston, two and three-month-old Samson, saying: “No one likes see a grown man cry.

“I didn’t realise how selfish I was until I had a wife and kids. Lauren is an amazing mum. I’m doing this course to make my boys proud.”

Lauren and Barry first met on the debut season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015 and while the pair didn’t initially hit off, a romance blossomed after the series wrapped.

In July 2021, Lauren and Barry revealed they secretly got married so the ex-footballer’s late sister Sandra, who was fighting her second battle with bowel cancer, could witness them tie the knot.

Elsewhere in the explosive trailer, Barry was seen going toe-to-toe with chief directing staff Ant Middleton, being set on fire and abseiling down a cliff.

Also appearing on the highly-anticipated third season of SAS Australia is former Bachelor stars Locky Gilbert and Anna Heinrich, model Simone Holtznagel and convicted drug dealer Richard Buttrose.

Putting the celebrities through their paces will be Ant, joined by Ollie Ollerton, retired US Navy SEAL Clint Emerson and former British Special Forces soldier Dean Stott.

SAS Australia premieres 7.30pm Monday, 21 February on Channel 7 and 7plus.
