Brynne Edelsten has opened up on being exposed to tear gas and stripping naked on SAS Australia, and reveals which dating show she’d love to appear on.

The socialite voluntarily withdrew herself from the course on day one after struggling to keep up with a physically-demanding “beasting,” where the celebrity recruits were required to plank while carrying their 20kg bags on their backs.

“I’ve lived a very high life but there’s also times where I’ve struggled so I’m mentally strong but I don’t have physical strength,” she said after quitting the show.

“Even though I’m disappointed I’m leaving I know I need to because my body is not strong enough to be doing these things but I have no regrets about this. If anything it encourages me to work to see what I can do in the future.

The 18 celebrities were thrown in the deep end from the get-go of the course with a confronting challenge where they were exposed to toxic gas particles, before being forced to strip down to their underwear and run through the forest.

Brynne was visibly shaken by the ordeal, and opened up to Fitzy and Wippa about the “horrific” challenge.

“That was horrible. Because not only can you not breathe, but you feel like your body’s like on fire from the inside out burning outwards with chemicals. And it’s so horrible,” she said.

“It was really bad…and I had never felt anything like that before. And like immediate. You can’t swallow you can’t you try to talk and it’s so horrible.”

Brynne admitted she was disappointed and surprised she only made it a few hours into the 14-day selection course.

“I didn’t go as far as I would have liked to have. And it was it was so challenging,” she said.

“I’ve never really been the most physical person in the first place I’m not the most coordinated or athletic or anything. I worked on my fitness game and trying really hard to get fit. Like it didn’t even come close to comparing what I needed to be able to do.”

After running to base camp in just their underwear, the recruits were required to strip nude to get changed into their uniforms, which Brynne said was the least of her worries.

“It wasn’t exactly the most comfortable thing, but that was probably the easiest part of the show for me,” she said.

When asked if she would have a crack at more reality shows, Brynne said “never say never”.

“I would love [to be The Bachelorette]. Yeah, top of my list,” she said.

“I always like any opportunity that comes along. If I feel like it’s right and I’m happy to give it a try.”

Brynne shot to fame after marrying the late physician-turned-millionaire businessman Geoffrey Edelsten, who was 40 years her senior.

The pair first met in LA, where US-born Brynne was working as a fitness instructor.

They tied the knot in a $3.3 million ceremony at Melbourne’s Crown Casino in 2009 when Geoffrey was 66, while Brynne was just 26.

In January 2014, it was announced Geoffrey and Brynne’s four-year marriage was over. Brynne previously insisted she doesn’t regret the split, but doubled down on her decision to keep her famous surname.

“I don’t associate my name as an attachment to him – it’s just my name,” she maintains. “I don’t see any reason why I would change it – that’s my identity with or without him,” she said.
