Last week Gogglebox Australia fans were in mourning as not one but two favourites quit the show. But here's the silver lining: Their departures opens up the way for newbies to join one of Australia's most-loved reality shows.

Casting for Gogglebox Australia 2019 has reopened to fill the gaps left by departing "couch critics", Angie and Yvie and Wayne and Tom.
"Calling all TV lovers, now's your chance to make your couch famous and join the cast of Gogglebox!" Ten said on it's website.
"That's right, if you're a keen telly viewer and you're not short on opinions, sass and just being genuinely hilarious about the shows you love (and love to hate), then you are already on the right track to become the show's next household name."
The online application goes into more detail, drilling down further into what they're looking for:
- A variety of households of different ages, backgrounds and make up.
- You must reside in either Sydney or Melbourne
- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Endemol Shine Australia, producers of the show, add: "(We) are always on the hunt to find engaging, witty and warm people who love everything about TV and want to share their views with Australian Audiences.

Though it may be an unusual concept for a program - watching people on TV watch TV - Gogglebox has been a ratings sensation a for its relatable friends and families and their good-hearted humour.
As evidence of its following and success, the show has won three TV WEEK Logie Awards including the Most Popular Entertainment Program award in 2018.
