With the finale of Beauty and the Geek just around the corner, the last remaining pairs – Alexander and Eliza, George and Josie, and Kiera and Lachlan – have dished on how they plan to take out the $100,000 prize.

Monday night’s episode saw Sam and Aira and Jess and James eliminated from the pointy end of the competition.

As for the top three, here’s what they have to say about making it to the end.

Kiera described making the top three as “absolutely surreal” and said she couldn’t have done it without Lachlan by her side.

Kiera described making the top three as “absolutely surreal” and said she couldn’t have done it without Lachlan by her side.

“I am so grateful that Lachlan gave his heart and soul in the challenges, otherwise I don’t think we would have got here – it’s a credit to him that we are in the finale,” she tells WHO.

“I am also so happy and proud of the other two teams – Eliza and Josie have been my best friends through this experience, so for us to share this moment is also really special.”

Lachlan had equally glowing words of praise for Kiera, saying she put “110 per cent effort” into every challenge.

Lachlan had equally glowing words of praise for Kiera, saying she put “110 per cent effort” into every challenge.

“To take home the winnings would be an unbelievable achievement and one of the biggest highlights of my life. However, I don’t think it will be an easy task as we’re up against very high-quality opposition in George/Josie and Alex/Eliza,” he says.

Kiera admits she already feels like a winner after gaining a renewed self-confidence from the show.

“I was going on BATG to find love and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I did both of those things. Lachlan and I share a very special bond through all of the crazy things we went through together – I honestly love him so much,” she says.

Lachlan said the understanding of how he should be treated by girls has been invaluable.

“As far as my comfort zone goes – I don’t think I will ever be nervous or embarrassed about anything again. I feel like a completely different person to the day we started filming. Not to sound cliché, but it really has changed my life.”

Lachlan says the understanding of how he should be treated by girls has been invaluable.

“My headspace and mental health is the most positive and confident it has ever been. I look forward to heading back into the real world with a reactivated social life and optimism surrounding my future love life,” he said.

The pair said their game plan moving forward is simply to “enjoy the rest of the ride”.

“Our motto the whole time has been that as long as we did the best we could – that’s all that mattered. That’s what we will continue doing, trusting each other and having fun,” Kiera says.

Lachlan adds: “The reason we’ve made it this far is because of our self-belief; every challenge we go into it with the utmost confidence in each other, so we’ll be taking that mindset into the final challenge.

Josie and George admitted they don’t have a game plan going into the finale, but said they will continue to “live in the moment, take risks and keep pushing the limits in challenges”.

The loved-up couple, whose romance has been heating up week by week, say it feels “insane” to have made it to the top three.

“I could never have made it this far without Josie by my side throughout this experience, nor could I without the help and influence of all of the other contestants,” George gushes.

Josie adds she is thrilled to have made it to the top three with her two closest friends Eliza and Kiera.

“There is absolutely no way I would be here without my amazing geek George. All our hard work has paid off,” she confesses.

“If someone had told me on day one that I was going to be in the top three, I wouldn’t have believed it for a second, but after the amazing rollercoaster ride I went on, it all makes sense now.”

Despite being at the pointy end of the game, Josie admits the prize money was never her priority.

“If I’m being honest, it came to a point where I forgot that this experience was a competition and that there was a $100,000 at the end – I was genuinely having the time of my life.”

“When top 3 was announced, my competitive side did start to kick in as this win would be life changing for George and I.”

Josie says she is shell-shocked to have ended up in the top three, and revealed she struggled early on in the show.

George adds: “All I wanted from this show was personal growth and I have resoundingly surpassed my own expectations. I feel like I know who I am now.”

Josie says she is shell-shocked to have ended up in the top three, and reveals she struggled early on in the show.

“I remember day three I called my best friend crying because I felt like I was the youngest, most vulnerable and that I had less to give than the others,” she says.

The couple admit they don’t have a game plan going into the finale, but will continue to “live in the moment, take risks and keep pushing the limits in challenges”.

Alexander and Eliza

The third couple to round out the top three is Alexander and Eliza, who say they “fought tooth and nail” to survive four elimination challenges.

“Coming into the show I just wanted to gain a fun new experience but I am leaving with so much more than that. I am leaving with so much more confidence, self love and acceptance for the person I am,” Eliza says.

“True beauty is so much more than what’s on the outside, it’s about being kind, positive, caring and having a good heart. I have learnt that being a geek isn’t someone who is unfashionable but it’s someone who is passionate, determined and accepting.

“By the end of the show I came to realise every single one of us were all beauties and geeks!”

Alexander admits that while he came onto the show hoping to find romance, he left with “meaningful and deep” friendships.

“Beyond the show, I hope to maintain these wonderful friendships I’ve made for life,” he says.

Alexander adds he plans to “fight and win a fair game” against his opponents in the finale.

“Whatever challenge lies ahead, Eliza and I know we can’t be killed in elimination challenges, and that’s our greatest strength moving forward. All we need to do is stay calm and focused and I believe we’re in with a great chance to win,” he explains.

But Eliza’s game plan is slightly more relaxed, saying she will simply “go with the flow” in the final challenge.

“Alex and I can face any challenge that is thrown at us because we have each other. We’re going to be ourselves, have fun and really just enjoy and appreciate this once in a lifetime experience.”
