If you’ve ever wanted to go on an all-expenses paid race around the world while vying for $250,000 in prize money, now’s your chance!

The Amazing Race Australia is back in 2022, and auditions are now open for hopeful eligible applicants.

“Be part of an incredible opportunity to travel around the world on the adventure of a lifetime with your favourite person!” a casting notice reads.

NRL star-turned-TV-personality Beau Ryan will most likely return to host the 2022 season, having already helmed the past two installments.

After a two-year hiatus from international travel, which saw the show’s contestants only race within Australia, the 2022 season is expected to set its sights on global destinations.

To be in with a shot, applicants need to be teams of two people who are both fully vaccinated and over 18 years old.

“The show will have strict COVID protocols in place when filming the show,” a statement from Channel 10 read.

Anyone applying for the once in a lifetime opportunity should make sure their calendar is cleared from the beginning of February 2022, as filming will take between four and seven weeks depending on how far they make it.

With international borders now reopened in Australia, ViacomCBS ANZ Beverley McGarvey said the show won’t film in Australia again.

“We really want to make The Amazing Race again, but we won’t film it in Australia again, we’ve done that,” she said, adding that the US version of the reality show is currently being filmed internationally.

“It is our strong ambition to film it outside Australia next year and our feeling is we will be able to do it,” she said.

The Amazing Race Australia first hit Aussie TV screens in 2010 and returned with a fresh season the following year. After a three-year hiatus, the show was revamped in 2014, and then didn’t air again until Beau took over as host in 2019.
