MasterChef Australia is back for it’s 11th season, set to introduce us to a new batch of daring amateur cooks.

The 24 new passionate and wildly talented (so talented they’ll make us all feel completely inadequate as we sit on the couch with a bowl of spaghetti) home cooks will don the iconic white apron.

Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris are back, to encourage, guide and, of course, judge the cooks.

Also along for the ride are MasterChef Australia alumni Poh Ling Yeow, Billie McKay and Matt Sinclair, who join the series as mentors to guide the contestants through the Immunity Challenges.

Among the famous chefs gracing our screens, are Curtis Stone, Nigella Lawson, Maggie Beer, Rick Stein, Clare Smyth and Yotam Ottolenghi.

So when can we expect to see the audition rounds begin? MasterChef Australia will return on Monday, April 29 at 7:30pm on Network 10.

So far viewers have been introduced to four contestants via the show’s social media channels.

We’ve met New South Wales’ travel agent Jess Hall, whose described as having a ‘vivacious spirit’ and need to make sure everything is perfect.

We’ve also met Tim, the Prince Harry lookalike who is a cooking and gardening educator.

There’s a “lovable hipster” and brewery sales manager Kyle Lyons, who dreams of owning his own microbrewery in Western Australia.

Finally, we’ve met Victorian IT project manager Sandeep Pandit who is plating up traditional cuisine from his hometown of Kashmir.
