Her hit song Hot N Cold has featured on all 11 seasons of MasterChef Australia.

And while Katy Perry was in Melbourne last week, the pop star herself managed to squeeze some time into her busy schedule for a visit to the MasterChef kitchen.

Contestants competing in the upcoming MasterChef Australia – Back To Win series were left shocked by the Swish Swish singer’s arrival and were absolutely losing it when she turned up.

Acting as guest judge during an immunity challenge, Katy – who is expecting her first child with actor Orlando Bloom – had the competitors in stitches as she reminded them they were cooking for two.

“Mama was hungry,” she joked.

Katy also revealed insights into her pregnancy journey so far, including the foods she’s been craving since falling pregnant.

The singer said she’s found herself wanting more exotic and spicy food now that she’s expecting – and even admitted to carrying tobasco sauce in her purse.

MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong described Katy’s visit as unforgettable.

“What makes the MasterChef Australia kitchen so special? The fact that ANYTHING can happen!” she said.

“Cue Katy Perry serving us pop star realness and a dose of honest food-loving opinion as guest judge. A day that won’t be forgotten soon, that’s for sure.”

And the California Girls hitmaker seemed to have enjoyed herself just as much, with Katy raving about the experience at the end of the episode.

Katy claimed being a MasterChef guest judge was “one of the favourite things she’s ever done”.

Katy’s special appearance can be seen in the upcoming Back to Win 12th season, coming soon to Channel 10.
