Cody Bromley and Selina Chhaur have had one of the slowest burns we’ve ever seen on Married At First Sight, so it came as a surprise to viewers when they decided to continue their relationship in the outside world.
During their dramatic final vows, Cody finally revealed to Selina how he truly feels about her.
“After all is said and done, from facing the good times and the bad, I’ve realised you are someone I care so deeply about, are someone I want to be around and more importantly are someone I want to build a future with,” he said.
Selina, meanwhile, delved into some of their issues before telling Cody he was The One.
Cody and Selina’s final vows were as shocking as they were sweet.
(Image: Nine)Cody and Selina then showed up as a couple to the reunion dinner, which was filmed a month after the final vows.
However, things took a sad and unexpected turn during Monday night’s sit-down with the experts, when Cody revealed he had broken up with Selina following the dinner.
After watching a video montage of their MAFS journey, Selina tearfully told the experts: “I just feel very confused and silly feeling the way that I do”.
“Selina and I decided to cool things last night,” Cody revealed much to the shock of the group, with Selina adding: “It’s new to me too.”
The MAFS bride revealed their relationship was “going great” and she had plans to move to Sydney in April to be with Cody, before things imploded.
Cody said Selina came on too strong at their wedding.
(Image: Nine)“I really wanted this to work but I just thought to myself throughout the experiment, yes we had some really amazing times but we also had some shockers so we never quite lost that habit,” Cody said.
Cody said he asked Selina to move to Sydney while their relationship was in the “best spot” but then backflipped.
“Last night it got to the point where Selina was [trying to hold my hand] but to me that felt very forced and it was just a realisation that it’s for the best,” he said.
“She needs someone who can show her [affection] and I can’t.”
Selina then tearfully admitted that she had fallen in love with Cody, saying: “I just feel silly. I thought this was love or heading towards that direction.”
Cody then said he isn’t sure if he’s made the right decision by ending their relationship, before eventually admitting he doesn’t see a future with Selina.

When Cody, a laidback personal trainer, met hyperactive hairdresser Selina, he was instantly worried she had come on a bit strong.
Selina struggled with Cody’s lack of affection.
(Image: Nine)During their wedding night, Cody feared Selina had come on a bit too strong, saying: “It’s a bit too much. I’m really worried she’s really going to dive in quickly.”
“Selina’s energy is full on. She seems like she’s going zero to 100, she’s very forward. I’m looking forward to getting to know her but I’m thinking ‘I just met ya’. Let’s just slow it down a bit.”
“The initial attraction is not quite as much as I would have liked… I just don’t know that there’s that real spark,” he told the cameras.

(Image: Nine)On their honeymoon during an awkward question box game, Cody admitted he was struggling to find an attraction to Selina, before point blank telling her: “It’s like my schlong isn’t coordinating with my head.”
Things took another turn on in the following episodes, when [Selina asked Cody if he was struggling with his attraction because she is Asian.
When he replied to say that it “probably” had something to do with it, Selina was understandably devastated.
“I asked him the question, that was actually really hard, and I guess I was a little naïve. It came as a massive shock to me and it was really upsetting,” she previously told WHO.
Despite her shock Selina said she was still willing to see if they could work through things. Cody, for his part, told the cameras he “f—ed” up and didn’t get his response out right.
Selina revealed Cody had broken up with her following the reunion dinner.
(Image: Nine)Their relationship took another hit in week three when Selina vocalised to Cody that she needed more attentiveness from him, and she ultimately chose to leave at the ceremony.
But Cody, wanting to give their romance one more shot, wrote “stay”, and they have since managed to turn their relationship around for their remaining time on the show.
