It’s the TV event we’ve been eagerly waiting for.

Married At First Sight returned with a vengeance that could only be matched by that of Cyclone Cyrell’s, airing the first of two episodes of their “grand reunion” last night.

Yes, there’s another night of that chaos to come.

From Nasser’s grandstanding to the Cyclone sweeping the table, it’s safe to say the reunion went pretty much how we all imagined.

Bitter feuds were reignited, frenemies made amends and, of course, wine was thrown, again.

While the drama made for truly captivating TV it was fan reactions on Twitter that made for the icing on the MAFS wedding cake.

Even before the metaphorical curtain opened on the show, fans were relishing in the petty drama to come.

“Lately I’ve been feeling really s–t about myself and where I’m at in life, so I can’t wait to watch the MAFS Reunion to remind myself that it could always be worse,” one twitter user wrote.

While another added: “Witnessing this reunion honestly feels like a reward for all those months in Stage 4 lockdown! #MAFS”

Nasser’s storm out

There were very few contestants (read: none) happy about Nasser’s appearance at the reunion.

So when he tried to kick off the dinner party with a toast, sans the apologies many were hoping for, he basically got booed from not just the table but the whole event.

Cyrell V Jessika

It was the feud all fans were waiting to see explode.

Despite Jess’ best attempts to avoid confrontation, Cyrell seemingly came for a fight and wasn’t going to leave without having picked one.

Speaking to fellow participant Troy, Cyrell revealed she had “every intention to confront Jessika about the hurt (she) has said”.

“If you don’t like the tone of it, tough luck, because we all know how the cyclone rolls out and you know what, there’s going to be thunder tonight”.

It all ended in an unsurprising wine throw, and Twitter had a lot of feelings about it.

There we have it folks, night one of the glorious train wreck is done. Now to do it all over again tonight.
