You can’t turn on your TV or scroll through your phone without being bombarded by the ongoing news surrounding the global coronavirus pandemic.

But Married At First Sight groom Ivan thinks the whole world is just overreacting.

During a recent radio interview, he let slip that he thinks the panic surrounding COVID-19 isn’t as serious as it’s being made out to be, leaving the hosts dumbfounded.

Ivan questioned the coronavirus on a Brisbane radio show.

Speaking to Stav, Abby and Matt on Brisbane’s Hit 105, Ivan discussed travelling between states, which the radio hosts remarked was hard to do in the current climate, with travel restrictions getting stricter by the day.

“Yeah this rubbish, if you buy into it it’s hard but that’s another issue in its own,” the real estate agent told the hosts, who then asked if he was referring to the coronavirus.

“Has anyone you know got it?” Ivan added.

Ivan then said that he thinks that there’s “more to the story that we don’t know.

“There’s something going on, it’s just fishy,” he remarked, before revealing that he isn’t socially isolating himself and continues to work as a real estate agent.

“I’m definitely still working, depending on who’s out there, you don’t shake anyone’s hands who’s showing symptoms,” he told the radio hosts.

“Our industry, we’re definitely still out there showing houses and all that.”

Described as Married At First Sight‘s most eccentric groom, Ivan became one of this season’s breakout stars.

From spraying deodorant on his feet on his wedding day, to being labelled as obnoxious, Ivan certainly knows who he is.

“I definitely would describe myself as an extravagant person. I like to make statements with my opinions, the way I dress. I do appreciate finer things in life, I think that’s why we all work so hard,” he said during the show’s premiere.

Ivan confessed early on that he likes to make bold statements with his opinions.

But things are certainly looking up when it comes to his love life, as he and on-screen wife Aleks seem to be one of the few couples who’ve made it work on the outside.

Ivan and Aleks left the show, after Aleks was accused of cheating with a mystery man, and they decided to give their relationship a shot away from the cameras and drama.

“Regardless of what pans out over the next few days and weeks, we are forever grateful for all of the wonderful people we have met along the way. We are all just humans on our own journey. Spread love, not hate and judgement,” he captioned an Instagram post shared shortly after their exit.

Ivan and Aleks are working on their relationship away from the MAFS cast and crew.
