Of the four Married At First Sight couples that have lasted in the real world, Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli are one of our favourites.
But now, fans have gone into meltdown with speculation they’ve split after they posted a series of explosive text message exchanges on their respective Instagram accounts.
“I know you always want the best of everything but this is just one of those things that take trial and error.”

“You know I don’t play Michael, I don’t have time for this.”
(Image: Instagram @marthaa__k)The MAFS couple are currently self-isolating at their North Bondi home, but in the texts Michael tells Martha, “Are you serious? You’re a bit dramatic… I know you always want the best of everything but this is just one of those things that take trial and error.”
When Michael asked if her response was a joke and remarked that they’d “only been here a few months”, Martha continued.
“You know I don’t play Michael, I don’t have time for this. I’m so busy, I have work to do. I need better support, I want a better connection! I just need more everything.”
Could this be the end of Michael and Martha?
(Image: Instagram @marthaa__k)To make matters even more cryptic, Martha shared a video to her Instagram story where she casually mentioned that she was sleeping in the bed alone.
“Since we’ve been spending so much time at home and we can’t leave, so much s— has come to my attention,” she told the camera adding that she was “so frustrated” and “so over this.”
“You think you sign up for one thing and then you get another. I’m just done, I’m too old for this and I just know that there is better out there and I know that I deserve better.”

But before you jump to conclusions, others have suspected the whole thing is simply a belated April Fools joke, or that the couple were in fact discussing a shoddy internet connection and perhaps about to announce an ambassadorship with an Internet provider.
“Hahaaa which Tel-Co could this be?” former MAFS bride Mel Lucarelli wrote in the comments.
“This is 100% an ad about internet connection,” another follower penned.
One fan even pleaded, “Don’t play with us like this. I can’t do corona and this. Pick a struggle. One tragedy at a time.”

Martha and Michael stayed together right through to the final vows in season six.

“It’s not different from what is going on in everyone else’s apartments,” she confessed. “We fight about the same dumb things that other couples fight about. We’re not special.”
