Long before Married At First Sight became all about partner swapping, punch ups and Instagram followers, true love really was at the forefront of the once wholesome show.

And for the first few seasons, some beautiful love stories played out on our screens.

One couple who can vouch for that are season two stars Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr, who met on the 2016 series of the blind dating show, which sees two strangers get hitched and attempt to carry out a pseudo marriage.

Despite hooking up in such a public manner, the couple have kept their relationship out of the spotlight and rarely post about their romance.

But over the weekend, Erin took to social media to confirm she was still very much with her MAFS boyfriend as they rung in their five-year anniversary – making them the longest-lasting couple from the entire Aussie franchise.

“Happy 5 year anniversary,” Erin penned via her Instagram Stories next to a rare snap of the pair showing Bryce kissing her on the cheek.

Erin poked fun of their apparent baby-faces on their 2015 wedding day.

In another post, she shared a throwback photo from their wedding day, which was filmed in 2015 and aired the following year.

“Dat youth (Bryce’s, not mine),” she joked of their baby-faces.

Erin and Bryce’s real-life romance hasn’t come without its challenges with the pair briefly breaking up at the start of 2017.

According to the former reality star, the secret to their success is keeping their relationship “on the DL.”

“I’m sure it infuriates a lot of people that they’re not kept in the loop because the nature of reality TV is you then go on to flaunt your whole life on social media,” Erin explained to fellow MAFS star Bella Frizza on her podcast, The D&M.

“I don’t think it’s normal. I know personally people who portray their relationship on social media as this fairy tale, who are some of the most miserable people I’ve ever met, in terms of relationships.”

Erin added that like any relationship, they have their ups and downs but their feelings haven’t changed since they met at the altar all those years ago.

“The Bryce I got the day that I met him is the Bryce I have today. He hasn’t changed at all. He is exactly who he is, and I’d like to think he feels the same about me.”

While you’ll be hard pressed to find any recent snaps of the pair on social media, they’re currently living together in Melbourne and one day hope to have a real wedding and start a family.

“When the time is right, we definitely want kids,” Erin previously told NW.

The season two couple join the likes of season six stars Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson, who tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed first child Oliver Chase Merchant last month, as well as fellow season six couple Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli and series seven pair Elizabeth Sobinoff and Seb Guilhaus as the final four couples remaining from seven seasons of MAFS.

Making MAFS history, the reality TV duo, who are currently living together in Melbourne, are the longest-lasting couple from the entire franchise.
