Why Davina Rankin’s time in the I’m a Celebrity jungle was “beautiful” compared to her Married At First Sight stint

Davina Rankin has revealed her short stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was incomparable to her “traumatic” experience on Married at First Sight.

While she was first introduced to the country as the MAFS season five villain, Davina has experienced quite the redemption arc since heading into the Aussie jungle, which saw viewers fall in love with the mother-of-one.

Two days after her elimination from I’m a Celebrity, Davina has (unsurprisingly) revealed the two reality shows were chalk and cheese.

“It’s not about fighting or drama, it’s about teamwork,” Davina said of her “beautiful” time on I’m a Celeb.

“It’s not about fighting or drama, it’s about teamwork and you’re all there for your charity. There’s no manipulation, there’s none of that kind of stuff, it’s a really beautiful family and loving show…. I really loved it,” she told HIT Queensland’s Breakfast with Cliffo and Gabi.

When asked if she received mental health support from MAFS producers after filming wrapped, Davina responded: “No not at all …. The duty of care was just so bad, I hope they have gotten better over the years.”

Davina showed viewers a softer side to her personality when she tearfully revealed to her I’m a Celebrity campmates the toll MAFS had on her.

“When it all came out and MAFS was airing, I didn’t leave the house for three months,” she told co-star Beau Ryan.

Davina said she received no mental health support after her time on MAFS.

But Davina has since revealed she was initially nervous about spilling all the details to her campmates.

“Even when I knew the MAFS chat on Celebrity was coming up, I was anxious all day, but I had so much support, everyone from the show was calling me to make sure I was okay,” she said.

“They talked me through the whole thing, they were so careful about me, my mental health, it was so beautiful.”

While her on-screen marriage to Ryan Gallagher didn’t end well following her “affair” with Dean Wells, leaving Davina viciously trolled, the I’m A Celeb star said she’s over the moon with her portrayal this time around.

“It was very fun watching it myself for once. I’m not used to being able to handle watching myself on TV, but it was so fun!” she told New Idea on Monday.

Along with fans of the show championing Davina, the first evictee has also received many well wishes from her former MAFS co-stars.

“A lot of the girls, and Dean, Telv… a lot of them have said congratulations,” she said.

“But everyone has been so beautiful and supportive and it’s really nice. I feel like I can kind of close that chapter now and just move on as ‘Davina for Davina’ and not ‘Davina from MAFS‘.”

Watching along with her has been her daughter, Mila, and fiancé, Jaxon.
