When 2021 Love Island Australia winner Mitch Hibberd got the call to return to the reality series, at first he thought it was a joke.
But the opportunity to fly to the island of Mallorca, in Spain, for what he calls ''hot boy summer'' was too good to pass up.
''The past 12 months have flown by,'' he tells TV WEEK.
''To think I've done Love Island twice is pretty crazy. I didn't think I'd be going back.''
This week, three bombs enter the villa. First, Claudia Bonifazio's ex, Jason Shtjefni, arrives, followed by Mitch.
Finally, Mitch's Love Island ex, Tina Provis, walks in to shake things up.
''I thought, 'Surely she's rocked up at the wrong villa.' I was very shocked,'' Mitch admits.
''Going into the villa, I was excited to meet new people and crack on and see what happens – the last thing I expected was Tina being there.''
But does her presence get in the way of him meeting someone new?
''All I'll say is, after I walk in, the chaos starts pretty quickly and the villa is turned on its head,'' he shares with a laugh.
''Coming in midway through, you have to step on toes and not be afraid to go for it. The girls are happy to see me, but the boys not so much.''
