She may not have found lasting love after her stint on The Bachelorette in 2017 – but Sophie Monk says she’s still a die-hard romantic at heart. “Who doesn’t love love?” Sophie, 39, tells OK!.

It’s this romantic streak that has seen Sophie eager to return to the villa – this time in Fiji rather than Spain – as another bunch of easy-on-the-eye boys and girls couple up on Love Island.

Sophie hosts the show and is a massive fan, too!

“I just love the innocence of this show,” she tells. “I love watching it all happen, those exciting first moments when a couple are falling for each other.”

It’s a feeling Sophie can relate to. Despite not getting her happy ending on The Bachelorette, she’s since fallen hard for marketing executive Joshua Gross after meeting him on a flight a year ago.

So does the bubbly blonde have any plans to take her own relationship to the next level?

“He’s awesome, we’re really good,” she gushes. “I definitely feel more comfortable and more myself with him than in any other relationship.”

If Sophie had her way, Joshua would be putting a ring on it sooner rather than later!

“I’m just waiting for it,” she laughs.

In the meantime, Sophie is busy packing her bikinis – and best gowns – for her hosting duties on Love Island. So will we see more of her on screen this year?

“Maybe a little more because there are a heap of new twists and turns on this season of the show,” she tells.

“But the show is all about the boys and girls. I’m the host, and now I think people are more aware of how Love Island works and what my role is.”

Since her stint on the show last year, Sophie says she’s still in touch with some of the contenders.

“I bumped into Dom [Thomas] and Josh [Moss] the other day, and I’ve seen Tayla [Damir] and Erin [Barnett] out and about,” she says.

With only one couple still together from last year’s season, here’s hoping Cupid’s arrow is more successful this time around!
