But behind the scenes, sources tell us that’s not the only thing Bernard Tomic has walked away from in recent weeks.
Perhaps even more shocking than his jungle walkout is the fact that in the days leading up to his jungle stint, the bad boy of Australian tennis told various media outlets he was a single man ready to find love in the jungle – news that left his 21-year-old girlfriend Emma Blake-Hahnel reeling.
According to the blonde model, she only learned of their split when she read about it in the newspapers.
“I’m quite perplexed about this situation because Bernard and I have not broken up,” Emma said.

News to her: Emma Blake-Hahnel claims she had no idea their relationship was over.
“I read an article about it and I’m puzzled as to why it’s been reported. I’ve been very stressed about the situation as I’m unable to contact him,” she told Woman’s Day last week when Bernard was still in the African jungle.
Her shock revelation came after Bernard, 25, told Woman’s Day he was single.
“I’ve been very stressed about the situation as I’m unable to contact him.”
“I’m not together with her. I was with her last year for a year-and-a-half, but I’ve sort of stopped,” he said, before adding that while he’d have reservations about getting together with someone on camera, a jungle romance wasn’t completely out of the question.
Now, as well as having to explain to Australia why he walked away from the reality show and his chance to earn $100,000 for his chosen charity Ronald McDonald House, it looks like the troubled millionaire has got some explaining to do to Emma!
