It would be tough to watch I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and not feel uncomfortable.

Indeed, the tantalising reality TV show puts some of the country’s most well known faces through their paces, challenging them with gruelling, gross, and at times, downright terrifying trials – all in the name of a hot meal and bragging rights.

That’s why, when you really think about it, you can’t really blame some of the celebrities for upping and leaving on their own accords.

In 2021’s newly revamped season, there’s no exceptions.

In the first few episodes, we’ve already seen our celebrities face their deepest fears, including a concerning snake challenge that not only deeply distressed the contestants, but Australian viewers as well.

And that, it seems, was the first straw to break the camels back.

Keep scrolling as we look at all the celebrities who’ve left, stormed and straight-up quit the jungle.

(Network Ten)

Paulini

Paulini was booted from camp in the now-traditional flinging-into-a-lake ceremony. “The past few weeks has just been incredible for me. I’ve actually told these guys things that I’ve never told my family and friends,” Paulini said of her time in the jungle. We’ll miss her kick-ass attitude around camp!

Symon Lovett

Sadly, this Gogglebox star didn’t quite make the distance, getting ejected with a (slightly) graceful lunge into the elimination pond. He gave us a few laughs, at least.

Alli Simpson

Alli Simpson

After the tough (and squirm-inducing) task of plunging her hands into a flurry of eels, Alli Simpson was eliminated from the jungle. “It was super emotional to watch it back, it brought back so many emotions and feelings,” Alli told us after her elimination. She sure gave it a red hot go!

Pettifleur

Pettifleur Berenger

This Real Housewives starlet was the third celeb to say goodbye to the jungle after failing to guess the number of eyeballs in a jar. Yep, it really did come down to a wild guess and a bunch of peepers smooshed into a container. A valiant effort, nonetheless.

Jack Vidgen

Jack Vidgen

Jack was the second celebrity to exit the jungle, being flung away (quite literally) from his fellow campmates and returned to usual programming. Despite being cut short, Jack told TV WEEK that his time in the jungle was irreplaceable.

“It’s been such a positive experience, I’m trying to get through all the messages and Tweets this morning,” he told us between non-stop interviews the morning after his elimination.

Mel Buttle

Mel Buttle

It wasn’t any challenge in particular, and more Mel’s extreme phobia of snakes that marked the end for the Aussie comedian. While she grappled with the decision for some time, Mel eventually decided her phobia quelled all – she was the first to say, “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!”.
