I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia returns for a fifth season in January next year, with our enigmatic hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown.
But which celebrities will Julia and Chris be bringing with them when they return to the South African jungle in 2019?
Well, we’ve just scored our first clues for four of the upcoming contestants and we’ve got some major guessing to do!
CLUE ONE: GOSSIP GURU
In the new clue, I’m A Celeb hints that this contestant is a red carpet regular who is getting their summer holiday cut short.
“This celebrity will be doing more than just dishing the dirt!” the clue reads.
Perhaps a well-known red carpet staple such as Angela Bishop, or Richard Wilkins?
CLUE TWO: 2 CONTROVERSIAL POLITICIANS
Two of our celebrities this season come from the world of politics, with the clue hinting they’ll be heading from the budget deficit to the food deficit.
Would it be too ambitious to suggest former Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop? And, hey, we know former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce isn’t opposed to a little TV time! Or, perhaps former Labor senator Sam Dastyari is looking like the best bet.
CLUE THREE: FOOTY LEGEND
He’s an AFL player known for his hair raising play, so who will be the mysterious footballer joining the celebs in the jungle?
CLUE FOUR: A FAMOUS FOODIE
The fourth clue hints that a famous foodie is heading into the jungle, and lists them as a telvision personality and author.
This could be any number of Aussie chefs, with the most likely contenders being MasterChef Australia’s Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris.
Or perhaps it could be MasterChef guest-judge and celebrity chef Curtis Stone? We’d certainly love to see him on our screens more!
CLUE FIVE: A COMEDIAN
The latest clue hints that a comedian will be laughing his way into the jungle! This – and I’m quoting – “fully sick” comedian will “definitely miss his fast food and other life’s luxuries” in the jungle.
With those clues, are we the only ones thinking either Rob Shehadie or Tahir Bilgiç? The boys most recently starred together in Street Smarts, which airs Network 10, so we know they’re in with the network.
One of their most famous projects revolves around a Pizza takeaway joint, so that could work for the ‘they’ll miss fast food’ clue. Plus, they literally wear t-shirts that say ‘OMG! Fully Sick.’
All we can say is, if Rob or Tahir are heading in to the jungle it will be a HILARIOUS season to watch!
CLUE SIX: A TV PRESENTER
A new clue reveals that an ‘opinionated’ TV presenter who is ‘never far from controversy’ will be heading to the jungle. He’s described as a ‘handsome host’ who is also known for his acting appearances and for taking out a popular reality show.
If it wasn’t for the ‘acting’ and the reality show clue, we’d be thinking Studio 10 host Joe Hildebrand.
Grant Denyer has made acting appearances in TV shows (Street Smart) and won a reality show (Dancing with the Stars), but he’s not exactly an overly-opinionated host who is ‘never far from controversy.’ Although… we would LOVE to see Grant in the jungle.
Of course, fans of the show will know who all these mysterious celebs are when it premieres on January 13th next year. In the meantime, be sure to let us know your guesses in the comments!
