Before she was in the African jungle and even before she was cooped up in the Love Island villa, Erin Barnett was on another reality show – and we completely missed it!

The 24-year-old I’m A Celeb contestant had a starring role on Beauty and the Geek‘s fifth season in Fiji when she was a fresh-faced 18-year-old.

The now defunct reality show took beautiful women and partnered them with smart but socially-awkward men to see what they could learn from one another, and go in the running to win $100,000.

In the show’s premiere episode, Erin revealed that she had “never taken an IQ test, I have no idea what my IQ is, it’s probably really low though. Or really high, which ever one’s bad.”

She may not have made it all the way to the end, but resurfaced footage shows the then 18-year-old babysitter chatting with her geek partner, IT guru Nathan about English.

The reality star was 18 when she appeared on the reality show.

“I used to have English first two periods and I used to come at recess,” Erin confessed at the time when asked if she enjoyed the subject at school.

The reality star then struggled to pronounce the word “parabola” ahead of a spelling bee challenge.

“I think Nathan thinks I’m a bit smarter than I am,” Erin revealed in a piece-to-camera.

Whilst the blonde beauty went on to star on the first season of Love Island Australia, Beauty and the Geek was canned in 2014, one year after Erin’s season.

Erin isn’t the only reality star to feature as a beauty on the show.

House Rules contestant Lisa, who starred on the renovation show with husband Andy, appeared on the first season of Beauty and the Geek back in 2009.

Aged just 21 at the time, she was paired up with synthetic organic chemist Corin and went on to be crowned runner-up of the series.

Lisa, a former aspiring actress, was dating her now husband at the time and confessed that the show didn’t have a dating focus when she was on it.

“Half of us girls had partners,” she explained to TV WEEK.

“It was more about what we could learn from each other. I didn’t become academically smarter by being on the show but it was great to have that experience so young!”
