“It got heated!”

Has House Rules already established its first rivalry? It certainly looks like it!

Last week, Andy and Tim went head-to-head when Tim demolished Andy’s wall panelling without his permission.

“I now know how Tim operates,” Andy, 32, told the camera. “It’s ‘The Tim Show’ and I’ll keep that in the back of my head.”

Now, Andy tells TV WEEK he was “disappointed” by Tim’s actions.

“We’d agreed to have a conversation about it first, but Tim knows what he wants,” he says. “He’d prefer to do it his way.”

Andy says Tim’s actions were a reminder that some contestants will do whatever it takes to win.

“It made us realise we needed to start looking out for ourselves,” he says. “We need to focus more on ourselves rather than trying to please everyone.”

Andy is competing in House Rules with his wife, Lisa, in the hopes of overhauling their Adelaide home.

“What’s wrong with this house? Where to begin!” Andy says of their place, which he calls a 1970s nightmare. “It feels like it’s never changed from the time it was built.”

Here’s hoping the cheerful contestants will walk way from the series with a home that better suits their personal style.

House Rules airs Monday to Wednesday, 7.30pm, and Sunday, 7pm, Channel Seven.
