Anticipation for the return of one of TV’s biggest reality shows, Big Brother, has been high since the first whispers of speculation began.

And, when Channel Seven confirmed they would, in fact, be reviving the beloved series, we were excited, to say the least.

It has been six long years since the reality hit has been on our screens. This reality TV favourite first premiered on Network 10 from 2001 to 2008, before being revived and moved to Channel Nine where it aired from 2012 to 2014.

Now, the wait for the new season is almost over!

Sonia Kruger is hosting the revived series.

It was originally reported by TV BlackBox that Big Brother would air in August after the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which have now been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the games postponed, Channel Seven has confirmed Big Brother will now air in June with already confirmed host Sonia Kruger.

We also received a tantalising teaser, which gave us our first look at the new Big Brother house.

The original was famously positioned within the Dreamworld on the Gold Coast but the theme park is no longer home to the contestant.

After being abandoned, the rundown house was vandalised and set ablaze by six children last year.

While our nostalgic hearts ache for the original, the first look at the new house is very impressive and seems to be living up to Channel Seven’s promise of reviving Big Brother, but not how we remember it.

Could this be the new-look layout of Friday Night Games?

Located in Manly’s north head in Sydney, the complex is a massive warehouse with a futuristic feel, complete with diary room (of course), spacious outdoors area, pool, lounge and purpose-built games area.

We’re imagining the Friday Night Games, but bigger and better.

So much to look forward to; let the countdown begin!
