Neighbours star Matt Wilson has welcomed a new baby with his wife, Jessica.
The actor, who plays Aaron Brennan on the popular soap, has left his fans (and some of his fellow famed Aussies) shocked after his wife shared the surprise update to her Instagram.
With no caption, the photo spoke a thousand words on its own.
Plenty of Jess and Matt’s friends and followers knew exactly what it meant, though not for lack of surprise.
“Oh my god whaaaaaat??? Congrats,” Survivor star Brooke Jowett wrote, baffled, yet overjoyed by the baby announcement.
Matt’s fellow Neighbours actors also weighed in.
“Congratulations beautiful people,” Bonnie Anderson wrote.
Zima Anderson added: “So precious… so happy for you both.”
Matt and Jess have welcomed their first child together.
(Instagram)The pair hadn’t given any indication that they were expecting a child before sharing the new picture this week – hence the shock from some of their famous cohorts.
But while the news certainly wasn’t expected in this way – a cheeky surprise isn’t exactly uncommon for these two.
In February 2019, the couple surprised fans when they shared pictures straight from their wedding ceremony.
“Forever,” Matt simply wrote alongside an image of Jess putting the ring on his finger as the celebrant looked on. ‘
Jess did the same, sharing a picture of them embracing as husband and wife, writing: “I’m a Wilson.”
It looked as though the wedding was a casual affair, with the bride and groom wearing printed beach-style outfits.
Matt previously spoke to TV WEEK in 2018, telling us about his hectic schedule after filming another project, Helloworld.
“Unfortunately, [Jessica] couldn’t come. The work trips for Helloworld are done so fast – I think we had seven flights in 11 days! It was such a hectic schedule because we had to fit it in with the Neighbours break. But maybe next time,” he said.
Perhaps that ‘next time’ involves three people now, instead of two…
