For those mothers, receiving compassion and support from those around them is one of the most important steps they must take.

Which is exactly what photographer, Chasity, of blog, Every Child Is A Blessing, wanted show in her stunning portrait, ‘Rainbow Babies’.

The photo, which shows seven pregnant mothers dressed as different colours of the rainbow, was aimed to garner support for mothers who were expecting or had already had ‘Rainbow babies’.

“A ‘rainbow baby’ is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss,” explained Chasity in the post.

“In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.”

Since its original posting on Facebook, the photo has received more than 102,000 likes, 98,000 shares, and 10,000 comments, clearly striking a cord with many mothers across the globe.

It’s a beautiful viral post that’s uniting woman in their shared grief. Many mothers are sharing their own photos on the thread as they proudly share pictures of their rainbow babies – old and young – who arrived after miscarriage.
