Tennis champ Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears have confirmed they’re set to become parents for a second time.

“We’re both obviously very happy and looking forward to it,” Andy told BBC of the wonderful news.

The couple, both 30, are already the proud parents to 16-month-old daughter Sophia.

Andy and Kim, pictured on their 2015 wedding day, are already the proud parents to 16-month-old daughter Sophia.

When asked if having another bub on the way would impact his upcoming Wimbledon campaign, the Scottish-born sports star explained: “No, I wouldn’t have thought so.”

Speaking of fatherhood, the world number 1 admits he’s been a life-changing experience.

“The thing that has surprised me most is how quickly everything changes – from the first day she was born,” he told The Guardian.

“You don’t notice it when you’re there every day but you look back at a photo on the day she was born to one taken five days later to now, a few weeks on, and you see how much things change on a daily basis.”

“It lends perspective when you have a bad loss or bad practice. The outcome of a match is not everything but I want my daughter to be proud of her dad when she grows up and sees what I did. I hope it works out in a positive way on the court but if it doesn’t, it’s not the end of the world.”

Since welcoming Sophia, she’s often spotted on mum Kim’s lap cheering on her dad as he continues to dominate the tennis scene.

Andy and Kim tied the knot at at Dunblane Cathedral in Scotland in April, 2015 and the father-of-one credits his success on the court to his happily married life.

Congratulations to the soon-to-be family-of-four!

The world number 1 is set to take Wimbledon this week.
