For parents wanting to stay connected safely to their little ones, a new option has landed in Big W stores nationally that could be just the answer you’re looking for.

TCL has launched its 4G MOVETIME Family Watch and it looks set to be a big favourite under Christmas trees this festive season.

With easy video calling, GPS tracking and a wide range of other customisable settings, it’s offering parents peace of mind, while providing their children a great option to make calls and be able to reach a select group of people quickly if needed. And with a price point under $200 it’s beating the competitors for affordability.

More and more technology is playing a huge part in the way we stay connected as a family. However, when it comes to our primary-school aged kids it gets a little tricker.

The responsibilities of taking care of and using a mobile phone safely are often a little beyond their paygrade. When you consider that this is also the time we begin to give them a little more independence, having another option for staying in touch is a game-changer.

“The balance between wanting to protect their children while giving them the independence they often crave is a challenge many Australian families are going through,” said Sam Skontos, VP and Regional Managing Director of South East Asia and Pacific, TCL Mobile. “It is a conversation we have had in our own family.”

With the MOVETIME Family Watch, parents can keep in contact with their children via direct two-way 4G calling, video calling, photo-sharing and messaging on its single touch point display. Its geofencing and geolocation functionality give parents peace of mind in knowing where their children are at all times, and it also comes with an SOS button for any situation where a child feels unsafe.

With a retail price of $199 and no ongoing subscription fees common with other devices in the market, the TCL MOVETIME Family Watch delivers up to two days of working time and up to five hours of talk time on a two hour charge.

“While parents work through the right age for their children to have a mobile phone, the MOVETIME Family Watch provides a compelling option for parents wanting to stay connected and monitor their children’s movements at a distance, while being immediately available at the touch of a button if needed,” says Skontos.
