Girl gives best excuse for not doing homework

A primary school student has given the “best excuse ever” for not completing her homework on time.

A primary school student has given the “best excuse ever” for not completing her homework on time.

The girl, Maddie, presented her teacher with a handwritten note explaining why she wasn’t able to hand in her assignment that day.

It’s something that happens every day in classrooms around the world, but Maddie’s teacher was left stunned when he read her excuse.

“Please give Maddie one more day to complete her homework,” the note read. “We had some big family news and did not get to this.

“Her grandpa won the Nobel Prize in chemistry!”

The note was posted on Imgur and has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

Maddie’s grandfather is believed to be Tomas Lindahl, who won the coveted prize for his work on genetic repair alongside Paul Modrich and Aziz Sancar.
