He and wife Victoria Beckham are the proud parents to the most well-behaved children in showbiz – sons Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11 and daughter Harper, four.

And in the April issue of American GQ the retired soccer star admits his bond with his kids is so strong, being apart from them is torturous.

“I get physically ill when I have to leave the kids now,” the 40-year-old confessed.

Although he retired from professional soccer in 2013, David’s career is still flourishing as he works closely with the United Nations, runs his own brand of whiskey, fronts campaigns for brands like H&M and dabbles in television and acting.

But the London-born lad reveals despite being blissfully happy, he’ll never stop longing for the sport which made him a house-hold name.

“I miss soccer every day,” he said.

“Maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., I’d probably really seriously think about coming back for a year. But we’re living in London, and the kids are happy in the school,” David added.

These days, you’re most likely to catch the doting dad watching Frozen over and over again with his daughter Harper.

And it seems Victoria loves spending time with her little ones just as much. On Wednesday, the fashion designer posted a touching snap of her daughter playing around with some fabrics.

“Draping like mummy #proudmummy,” the 41-year-old penned alongside the snap.

With loving parents like these, the future sure does looks bright for the Beckham brood!
