To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Scooby-Doo an epic pooch party was thrown for the birthday boy, with the largest dog cake ever made in Australia and a guest list of puppy pals – from greyhounds to Pomeranians. .

The cake was designed by celebrity chef and Masterchef guest judge, Anna Polyviou. Standing at 1.5 metres tall and weighing over 120 kilograms, the cake took days to make and a team of people to assemble.

Anna said: “The collaboration was my dream job, I grew up watching Scooby-Doo and still watch it with my niece and nephew. It brings back so many happy memories for me enjoying my coco-pops on a Saturday morning trying to solve the mystery with the gang. I’m a big kid at heart so not much has changed, I’ve just moved on to oats.”

Like at any party where cake is involved, it didn’t last long and was quickly devoured by the dogs in attendance.

Aside from the sheer size and weight of the cake, the judge of Family Food Fight says the most challenging aspect of creating this cake was making sure it was safe for dogs to eat.

“I didn’t want any dogs to get sick so we spent a lot of time checking what they could and couldn’t eat. The ingredients include wholemeal flour, honey, carrots and on the outside we’ve got potato mash, yoghurt, cream cheese and obviously dog biscuits,” says Anna.
