Anti-vaxxers sending hate messages to vaccinated kids

A group of hard-line anti-vaxxers are sending threatening messages to vaccinated children telling them their parents are “trying to kill” them.

Jezebel reports the 11-year-old daughter of a pro-vaccination campaigner was stunned to receive an intimidating Facebook message from someone pretending to be her aunt.

“Your mother is a fat ugly piece of shit who tried to kill you,” the message read. “She is a bully and suffers from mental problems … You can thank me when you’re older.”

The girl had been targeted because her mother belonged to a Facebook group called Anti-Vax Wall of Shame, which makes fun of the anti-vaccination movement.

“We all know that anti-vaxxers tend to say the stupidest stuff,” a description for the group reads. “This group is a way that we can catalogue it and mock it into the dust for all of Facebook to see.”

The group angered many anti-vaxxers, who started opposing group Anti-Vax Wall of Shame – The Fall of the Wall to “expose” the people behind the original group.

In the past few weeks, the anti-vaxxers’ actions have reportedly become increasingly aggressive as they react to a proposed new bill in California which will make it much harder to object to vaccinations because of personal or religious reasons.

Group members have allegedly started harassing pro-vaccination parents, bombarding them and their families with hateful messages.

The mother of the 11-year-old girl who was harassed also received threatening messages herself.

“She made it clear she was going through my pictures, making remarks about my husband having AIDS and how ugly my children are,” the woman says. “That their teeth are rotting out and they look retarded.”

The claims of the anti-vaccination movement have been widely and repeatedly disproved. Vaccination remains the best way to protect your children – and others who are too young to be vaccinated – from dangerous diseases.
