Your say: Would you pay over $2000 for a stroller?

The Bugaboo Donkey is a state-of-the-art stroller, but would you pay over $2000 to own one?

The Bugaboo Donkey is a state-of-the-art stroller that can be transformed from a single child-carrier with a sidecar for carrying packages, to a double child-carrier.

The seats can be removed and used as carriers and can “grow with” your child. It has adjustable sizing to accommodate newborns through to 15kg toddlers, you can convert it from front- to rear-facing in three clicks, the fabric is reportedly easy to clean and machine washable and it folds up and down in one piece.

It sounds like the Bugaboo Donkey is pretty much the best stroller money can buy. And so it should be, as it will set you back a tidy sum of around $2000, and has been dubbed the sports car of the stroller world.

In addition to the standard stroller, you can also buy a range of add-ons and accessories, including a sun canopy, cup holder, organiser container, parasol, footmuff and seat liner. See more of the stroller’s features at www.bugaboo.com.

It’s caused a frenzy in the US, with celebrity mums and mums-to-be — including Mariah Carey — snapping them up, while at UK department store John Lewis in London the Bugaboo Donkey is selling at the rate of one an hour each day, the UK’s Daily Mail reported.

The Bugaboo Donkey is due to be released in Australia this autumn. It’s currently retailing in the US for around $2000, the question is — cashed-up celebrities aside — who will pay $2000 for a stroller?
