It seems everyone is out there to make life a little easier for new mums, as there are now many smart phone applications that can keep you fit, save you time as well as give you peace of mind. Here we list just a few.

Better than dad guessing, this iPhone app is designed for women who are 25 weeks into their pregnancy or later and its easy touch-screen tracker keeps everyone reassured that bub is active and growing and progressing ok.

These great apps help you keep track of what is normal as you go into labour. As you phone keeps a record of each contraction, duration and frequency, it makes it much easier to relate timing information to the hospital or midwife if asked.

BabyBump is a pregnancy app that keeps soon-to-be parents informed about their pregnancy progress and enables tracking and sharing the experience with family and friends around the world.

Pilates instructor Kristin McGee has 3 progressive levels of Pilates mat sessions to tone your midsection and you can do it where ever and whenever it suits you.

There is a track and log feature for your workouts and you don’t have to hunt down a DVD or be in front of a television to get started.

Save a trip to the internet or searching through cook books, this handy app includes loved, tried and tested recipes. There are also nutrition facts helpful when you are trying to find healthy recipes or if you are trying to lose that baby weight.

But probably more importantly right now you can select recipes that can be prepared within a certain time with the cooking time calculator.

If you are that organised that you might do it if you wrote it down, here is another ‘to do list’ app where you can create and edit tasks more quickly and efficiently than others as most of the folders appear on one page and it only takes a few taps to enter information, quicker than its competitors.
