The world lost a beaming light when Shane Warne passed away on March 4th at 52-years-old after reportedly suffering a heart attack.

While our nation mourns his life, it’s his children who our thoughts and condolences extend to, and it was clear he adored Brooke, 24, Jackson, 22, and Summer, 20, who he shared with his ex-wife Simone Callahan.

“My children fill me with laughter, joy, and above all – love. I’m so proud of them. It’s difficult to describe the love you have for your own children, but it makes you smile every time you look at them. Even though they are turning 23,21 & 19 – I will always see them as the picture above,” shared Shane in April 2020 on his Instagram.

“My children are my number 1 priority and always will be. They inspire me to be the best person I can & motivate me on a daily basis. I love being a father (Even if it means saying yes to silly tik tok videos 😂😂),” he wrote.

Of course, the love went both ways and Summer was devastated by her father’s death, penning an emotional tribute in his memory after the family released an official statement.

“There [are] no words. It feels like I’m dreaming, waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me that you’re okay. This can’t be real life,” Summer wrote alongside a series of photos of her with her father.

“There’s no way that life is this cruel to the most beautiful people on this earth. There’s no way that I will never hear your soft voice again telling me that ‘everything is going to be okay’ or how ‘proud’ you are of me, or simply saying ‘goodnight’ or ‘good morning SJ I’ll see you in the morning, I love you…”

The 20-year-old then revealed that she shared a few precious moments with her dad not long before his death “jamming” to ‘Summer Of ’69’ and ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’, songs that never failed to make Shane smile.

“Talking about how much you loved that song and seeing your smile light up the whole room while we danced and couldn’t stop laughing at each other. God you made me laugh dad,” she wrote.

“Little did I know that was the last time I would ever see you dad. I’d do anything to hear that laugh again, anything to hear your voice, anything to have one of your cuddles, anything to be with you again just one last time.”

Summer went on to say that she wished she could have been with her father in his final moments to tell him “everything was going to be okay”, adding that he will live on in her heart for the rest of her live.

“I took our time for granted dad and I would do anything to have more time with you on this earth. Our time was robbed and I wish you would come back to me,” Summer said.

“You may not be alive dad, but you will forever live inside my heart, I will cherish the memories till my time is up on this earth and I am reunited with you again.

“I love you dad, forever and always will be my Father no matter where you are. Love your little girl SJ and I will continue to make you proud.”

Her elder brother Jackson immediately commented on the post, writing: “I love you summer, I’m always going to be here for you.”

Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian also commented, having grown close with the Warne children while Shane and Liz were dating in the early 2010s. He wrote “I love you so much.”

Fans caught a glimpse of Shane’s playful relationship with his youngest daughter Summer through TikTok videos they made together.

In the most popular video they created, Shane and Summer were lip-syncing to a soundbite courtesy of Kim and Khloe Kardashian, which amassed two million views.

“I’m so jetlagged from Australia,” imitated Shane with a dose of sass on his face.

In another Summer was filming her cricket legend dad driving his car with the popular sound bite, Material Girl, playing over it, which reached 165 thousand people.

The father and daughter pair clearly shared a love for the Kardashians as they made another TikTok with a soundbite from when Kourtney said to Khloe, “Your hair doesn’t go with your outfit, you’re kind of Halloweeny,” and her sister replied, “What the f-ck is up you’re a– today, you little rager.”

It wasn’t all silliness between the father-daughter duo though.

Summer also showed a lot of love for him on her Instagram and after he returned from I’m a Celeb… Get Me Out Of Here in 2016, posted a picture of Shane with a cake that read, “We are proud of you dad,” gifted to him from herself and her siblings.

In her caption, she wrote, “Guess who’s back from the jungle!!! so proud of you dad ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌵🌴🌵💘,” and by the look of his beaming smile, he clearly felt the love.

His children clearly adored him.

Shane was protective of his kids’ privacy, but he occasionally sprinkled his Instagram with posts dedicated to them.

In October 2017, he posted a cute picture of him with Summer to celebrate her milestone birthday.

“Love you @summerwarne Happy 16th birthday ❤️❤️❤️,” he gushed.

During an interview with Leigh Sales on the 7:30 report in 2019, the sportsman spoke candidly about his incredible relationship with his children and how they grew stronger despite his various controversies.

“Honesty with them, and being honest with them and saying that’s my mistake and they’re hurt by that, but they’ve forgiven me, and they understand me, and they want me happy, and they also got to accept who I am,” he said at the time.

“There is no point to be something I’m not, so I think they accept me for who I am. Yes, I embarrass them and I think that is a part of my job as a father to embarrass them… like wearing bad shorts to the netball or something,” he joked.

“Our relationship is great, and I am so happy for that,” concluded Shane, whose light shone brightest and now eternally for Jackson, Summer, and Brooke.
