Melissa Rawson and her fiancé Bryce Ruthven have announced their twins Levi and Tate’s godfather, former Married At First Sight co-star Jason Engler.

The couple asked Jason to take on the special role at Melissa’s birthday celebrations over the weekend.

“Spent the weekend celebrating this stunner’s birthday,” Jason captioned a series of photos from the party.

“I use the term beautiful angel a lot however Liss is actually deserving of that title. One of the most amazing women I have met, there should be a halo hovering over her head. Still not sure where she hides her angel wings but they are there somewhere!

“Also not long after I was crying in public when Bryce and Liss asked me to be the godfather of the boys and I’m not even ashamed about my public tears.”

The exciting news comes a few weeks after Melissa admitted she felt “mum guilt” for attending a now-infamous boxing event where Bryce scuffled with former MAFS co-star Sam Carraro.

The couple, whose premature sons had just arrived home after spending their first two months of life in hospital, copped flak for attending the celebrity boxing match.

The star-studded event made headlines after Bryce and Sam’s on-screen rivalry spilled into the real world, with the pair getting into a fiery scuffle that was recorded by shocked onlookers.

Melissa revealed online trolls made her feel “mum guilt” for taking a night off and going out with Bryce, saying people incorrectly assumed “we just lifted the boys out of NICU then went out”.

Melissa and Bryce’s former co-star Jason Engler will take on the role of godfather.

“I think every parent, whether they’re new to parenting, or they’ve been parenting for 20 or 30 years, every parent is going to have a night out and go and hang out with friends,” Bryce told Daily Mail.

“I guess one thing that’s always been told to us from family and friends is that you’ve got to also focus on your relationship with each other, and make sure that stays strong and basically that’s what we were doing.

“The boys were in safe and capable hands with Melissa’s parents; we wouldn’t just leave them with anyone.”

Jason said he was brought to tears after being asked to be the boys’ godfather.
