The first year of any child’s life is, naturally, filled with exciting milestones, but one of the most memorable is undoubtedly their first steps.

The moment marks a big step, pardon the pun, into a new mischievous phase of life, one that also means a lot of subsequent running around and chasing for the child’s parents.

Speaking on the Today show on Tuesday, host Karl Stefanovic revealed his daughter Harper, whom he shares with wife Jasmine, has finally begun walking.

“She’s off…” Jasmine captioned the clip.

Jasmine also shared the adorable footage of baby Harper‘s exciting new feat.

In the clip, which Jasmine captioned, “She’s off…”, Karl can be heard in the background coaxing the little one on.

Jasmine closed out the cute video by adding, “Proud parent moment.”

Sharing the moment with Today viewers Karl admitted he was thrilled but apprehensive about Harper’s new capabilities.

Someone’s chuffed with themselves!

“Whilst it is exciting it’s also incredibly daunting. Look at the gate in the back – we have to start locking everything up!” he said.

Harper’s first steps come just weeks before her first birthday. Karl and Jasmine welcomed their daughter on May 1st 2020 at the Royal North Shore Private Hospital.

In a statement shared via the Channel Nine social media channels at the time, Karl confirmed the safe arrival of Harper May.

She’s growing up before our eyes.
