Australian cricketer David Warner often spends time away from his family due to his sporting career, but that has never stopped him from doting on them.

When the he isn’t at home with wife Candice and their three daughters, David makes sure to show them plenty of love from afar.

Just take one peek at his Instagram page, which is chock full of sweet tributes to his “rock” wife and their girls.

“My world,” he regularly captions snaps of daughters Ivy Mae, Indi Rae, and Isla Rose, along with a smattering of heart emojis.

The devoted father and husband is as dedicated to his family as he is to cricket, even when it takes him away from home.

He spent weeks separated from his family while stuck in India during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, before finally being reunited with his girls in Australia.

“I’m going to miss you all soo much,” he wrote in September 2021 as the cricket season pulled him away from home yet again.

“It’s been such a great time at home with the family, and now it’s back to work.”

Fortunately, wife Candice is ultra supportive of her husband’s career and holds down the fort with their three girls while David’s gone.

In April 2022 the pair marked seven years of marriage and Candice honoured her husband with a down-to-earth Instagram tribute, writing: “7 years married today and so many laughs along the way. @davidwarner31 you are my world. I love you always and forever.”

These days they’re an Australians sporting golden couple and it’s hard to believe that they may never have fallen in love if not for one Twitter message in 2013.

Long before they were husband and wife, or mum and dad, the couple connected on social media – and the rest, they say, is history!

David Warner started dating former Ironwoman Candice Falzon in 2013 after the pair, who actually grew up in the same area, connected over Twitter.

“I was away in England for the Ashes and I got another message from Candice… Then we just started texting and Skyping. It was bizarre,” he told New Idea.

An athlete herself, Candice has always been hugely supportive of David’s cricket career, like in this snap from 2013.

Pregnant and engaged! The couple shared their happy news in March 2014, announcing their plans to tie the knot after welcoming their first child.

Baby Ivy Mae arrived at the end of the year and David took to his new role as a doting dad with ease.

(Instagram)

The new parents were smitten with their baby girl and couldn’t be happier as a little family of three.

(Instagram)

Of course Ivy was front and centre when her parents tied the knot in 2015.

“How could I not have a tear in my eye when I saw Candice walk around the corner looking like the most beautiful bride in the world?” David told Woman’s Day shortly after.

(Instagram)

It wasn’t long before David and Candice shared some more exciting news; Ivy was going to be a big sister! She made sure to get in plenty of one-on-one time with her dad first.

(Instagram)

And baby makes four! Candice delivered second daughter Indi Rae in January 2016 and David looked overjoyed to be a dad again.

(Instagram)

He was even named Australian Sports Dad of the Year in 2016 and we can totally see why.

(Instagram)

The Aussie cricket icon even got his girls involved, bringing them to the pitch in this cute snap from 2016.

“The best, family first!!!” Candice wrote alongside the shot.

Being parents of two little girls only made this gorgeous couple glow more, Candice captioning this photo from 2016 with: “My life! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧💗”

(Instagram)

They grow up so fast! Before long Ivy and Indi were running around with mum and dad on this holiday through the Caribbean and America in 2018.

(Instagram)

David and Candice experienced a tragic miscarriage in 2018, Candice telling The Australian Women’s Weekly: “We knew I was miscarrying and we held one another and cried.” Fortunately, they had some joyful news the following year…

(Instagram)

In June 2019 the couple welcomed their third daughter, little Isla Rose.

(Instagram)

As with his first two girls, David was completely besotted with the newest addition to his gorgeous family.

“Dave has been amazing – and the girls are already fighting over her!” Candice told Woman’s Day at the time.

(Instagram)

Naturally, Isla was out on the cricket pitch supporting her dad with her sisters before she was even a year old.

(Instagram)

Even with three little girls in the house, David and Candice have kept the romance alive and we can’t get over how much the cricket legend adores his wife, captioning this snap: “What can I say, absolutely stunning you are.”

(Instagram)

Family has continued to be one of the biggest parts of David’s life, even though his sporting career regularly takes him away from his girls.

(Instagram)

“Miss you all,” David penned alongside this photo in 2020, when work and the COVID-19 pandemic kept him separated from his wife and daughters. “Can’t wait to see my girls!!”

(Instagram)

Through it all, Candice has been her husband’s biggest fan and he couldn’t be more grateful.

“Truly blessed,” he captioned this photo of them together. “Love you darling, you look stunning.”

(Instagram)

David was stranded in India during the COVID-19 outbreak there in early 2021 and couldn’t be happier when he finally reunited with his family in May.

(Instagram)

The family-of-five spent plenty of time together during the recent lockdowns, before David headed off again in September as cricket season got underway.

(Instagram)

David said what we were all thinking when he shared this snap of his daughters in October with the caption: “My girls are growing up soo fast!!”

Meanwhile, Candice has been missing having her man at home, posting this sweet throwback and writing: “Missing moments like this. I ❤️ you.”

Candice Warner

In an interview on Sarah McGilvray and Catherine Mahoney’s Nova podcast, Not Another Parenting Podcast, Candice, revealed that over the past 14 months in 2021 she spent “on and off” three months with her husband.

Of course, the reason for this unfortunate circumstance is the pandemic, and its consequential restrictions, which the former athlete explained had made her feel like a single mum.

“So, we spent a lot of time apart which… it has been hard… Just being the single Mum, it’s kind of not what I signed up for. I’m building a house, homeschooling, lockdowns… it has been a juggle, and it’s been really tough, to be completely honest,” she replied.

When Catherine asked Candice to expand on how she feels about running her household alone, she didn’t hold back on expressing the raw emotions she has experienced.

“Yes, it is really hard. it’s just trying to just accept it. Because obviously you’re not a single mom, but you basically are like you are and it’s times where you don’t want to get resentful,” she admitted.

“You don’t want to get angry, you know, we’re only human, and there’s times what you do you rock up to your friend’s house, and they’re there with their husband and kids. And it’s just you… you with three, and it is difficult, and it has been I’m not going to lie.”

Of course, David is always there for Candice, but she has revealed that while her husband is one of the most influential people in her life, she doesn’t want to burden him with her struggles at home to avoid distracting him from his work.

“It’s difficult because he’s your husband and your best friend. And that’s the person who you turn to normally, but knowing that he’s got a game for Australia World Cup final or the Ashes, and I don’t want him to be distracted, and he needs to be purely focused on that,” she selflessly explained.

“It then becomes really, you feel very alone. And then you’re well who can I turn to? So that’s where for me it’s been difficult this past three months.”
