Carrie Bickmore and her family of five are living in London during their expat adventure.

On her Instagram stories and feed, it looks like they’re having the time of their life.

However, The Project host has admitted that their youngest child, Adelaide, has struggled to adjust.

But Carrie is a resourceful mum, so she made it her mission to find some respite for her daughter.

Addie looked pretty pleased with her mum’s efforts.

Eventually, she stumbled upon a play centre that she was pleased to report is “just like the Aussie play centres.”

The radio host announced the news on Instagram by sharing a video of Addie enjoying a ball pit and a picture of her play driving a stationary car.

In her caption, she explained their rocky journey that, despite its challenges, has been worth it for the quality time.

“Wanted to do something easy and fun for Addie today because to be honest she is the one in the family that is struggling the most being on our adventure,” she wrote.

“I know the special time we are getting together will be worth it.”

“Away from her home (which due to lockdown she has spent a lot of her short life in) new smells, new people, different food, tubes, buses, flights, late nights, new beds, it’s a lot for her and the result is lots of grizzling, tantrums, disrupted sleep and very clingy.

“I know the special time we are getting together will be worth it for her but thought I’d share some of our realities of travelling with little ones.

“I am cherishing the endless hours together that I never get at home and happy to spend my day in a ball pit 🥰.”

Carrie’s fans were so thrilled she was so candid about her experience as a mum.

“We figure it’s never going to be the perfect time to go.”

One fan wrote, “Sometimes it’s the simple things to just re-ground a little isn’t it! I remember travelling with ours when they were little and it is so full on 🙌 Amazing but a little overwhelming at times too! ❤️.”

Another shared, “🙌 thanks for sharing the realities & joy of {tired} preschoolers, this precious time, it whizzes by too fast #cherish x.”

In March, Carrie announced her family was packing up their bags for a European adventure when she emotionally revealed she was taking a sabbatical for several months to travel to the UK with her family.

“In April, I’m going to be taking a few months off The Project desk,” she said, before adding that her partner Chris Walker and her kids are heading “on a family adventure together”.

She explained they had wanted to make the trip for a while, but the “timing hasn’t been right”.

“We figure it’s never going to be the perfect time to go,” she said.

“It’s something we really want to do before my son starts his final years at school, so we’re doing term two in the UK. So I will be off for a couple of months.”
