As a parent, it’s fair to say that you’d do ANYTHING to ensure your child is healthy and happy, right? Well, as self-dubbed “researcher of life” Carlee Benear stresses, it’s just as important to safeguard after your own wellbeing while looking after your child’s.

This is why she has taken to breastfeed her toddler while doing what she loves most: practising yoga.

“As far as breastfeeding yoga goes, anyone who has breastfed knows that it is a 24/7 dedication,” she says of her passion for breastfeeding while Om-ing.

“I believe as parents it is our duty to make that time for our self because we cannot pour from an empty cup.”

Carlee then goes on to describe how continuing to breastfeed her toddler, even as she maneuvers her body upside down as part of her practise, has reduced her risk of mastitis, as well as calmed her mind and reduced her stress levels exponentially.

“Breastfeeding yoga has helped me combat postpartum depression and has made my breastfeeding journey free of any bumps in the road, such as mastitis, worry of lacking in supply, getting over those first few weeks of tenderness, let down control and the stresses of being needed around the clock- to name a few.”

“Not only that, but it helped me get my mind out of the way and let my body soar with the possibilities and control that are naturally there.”

And Carlee’s video has been met with plenty of online praise.

“There’s something very beautiful and powerfulin this video,” one Instagram follower wrote.

“My son is often in on my yoga sessions. Joining. Watching. Nursing. Loving,” another added, while one stated: “Wow you have skills. So amazing, so awesome.”
