Next to a beautiful backdrop, she have provided an update with son Otis on how he was faring, writing: "Thank you everyone for your amazing thoughts, kind words, prayers - didn't think our Gus would make it, but he is well on his way to a full recovery."

Ever the arty family, Bridie and her youngest son Otis captured this snap as they admired the works of local artist Christian Palmer.

Bridie shared a sweet snap from a trip she made to Italy a few years back - in the image she holds her son Otis, aged three-and-a-half at the time, alongside her stepson James.

The blended family spent time enjoying "the best food ever, historic buildings, cobblestones, beautiful churches, monuments, sculptures and most importantly a passion for life, love and a celebration of people."

The Aussie actress was in her happy place in the beautiful European country.
